The original Junglas was named after the Colombian police “JUNGLA” Compañía Jungla Antinarcóticos special operations forces and was originally designed as a cross between a fixed blade knife and a machete to be employed in Latin American jungle and counter-narcotics operations. The original Junglas and this shorter Junglas-II now see service with counter-narcotics operators, adventurers and woodsmen globally. After working with the anti-narcotics police in Peru and Colombia, the ESEE team designed the Junglas series of knives to be a little tougher than a machete while maintaining excellent slicing efficiency for cutting coca plants. Since its inception, the Junglas series have become very popular with woodsmen and other outdoorsmen who like a big knife.
If the 10" blade on the Junglas is a bit too much, then check out the Junglas-II knife. Same handle, same sheathing, with a 2-inch shorter blade.
